American Legion - National Commander's Dinner April 8, 2022, at Anton's Queens

A MESSAGE FROM THE NEW YORK DEPARTMENT ADJUTANT
James W. Casey

 Post Commanders:

Just a brief note to let you know where we are at with the National Commanders visit to the downstate area on April 8th, 2022. Anton’s Catering Hall has been secured for the evening and the setup will be similar to the way it has been in previous years. We will have seating for 600 people at tables of 10, the Cocktail hour will start at 7PM and conclude at 8PM. There may be a change in the Program resulting in a short delay in dinner serving, we are working that out with the staff at Anton’s. I have received several minor complaints over the years that dinner was too soon after the Cocktail hour. We are making an effort to adjust that, if possible. I will keep you informed of the final decision when it is made.

The cost of the dinner will be $70.00PP, the price has remained constant the past few years and with rising food and employee costs I thought it would be prudent to increase it at this time. The dress for gentlemen at dinner will remain the same as always, suit and tie for table guests and black tuxedos with black accessories (tie & vest) for dais guests. I really shouldn’t have to say this but ……. NO SHORTS, TEE SHIRTS, SANDALS OR SNEAKERS THAT LOOK LIKE SHOES. With the sudden drop in Covid-19 variant cases across the State I am very hopeful of a significant decrease in our ‘restrictions and a return to normalcy in our day-to-day activities.

Please have your payments made payable to:
Bronx County Organization Inc.

The point of contact for questions will be:
Peter Del-Debbio, (914) 760-2588
Colleen McCarthy, (917) 445-0961

Please share this email as widely as possible amongst your members.

Respectfully,
Peter Del-Debbio
Bronx County
Adjutant

MCL - FIRE MISSION SUNDAY 1200hrs and 1400hrs

FIRE MISSION SUNDAY 1200hrs and 1400hrs

Once again, the Brooklyn VA hospital and the Staten Island VA clinic are in jeopardy of closing and/or drastically reducing services.  We held them off in 2005, but the VA is coming out with another realignment report Monday which puts the cuts on the table again.

WE NEED EVERY SWINGING DI*K TO ATTEND THE FOLLOWING 2 RALLY'S SUNDAY TO VOICE OUR OPPOSITION TO THESE CUTS (details to be provided at the rally's):

12 Noon Sunday at Staten Island VA clinic, 1150 South Ave

2PM Sunday at Brooklyn VA Hospital 800 Poly Place

I've attached a flyer for the 2PM rally at Brooklyn VA Hospital.

Please bring your families and tell other vets who care to attend the rally's.

Background:  NOTE:  this is the same kind of commission that closed the Staten Island Homeport in the 1990's!:
