There has been a change to the Agenda that has been previously published. The Banquet has been moved from Saturday evening to Friday evening. The Convention Packet and the associated forms have been updated with the new date, as well as the Department Web site. The Convention packet is also available at https://www.mclnewyork.net/. Upcoming Deadlines Department of New York 91st Annual Convention 10 May 2022 Banquet RSVP: You need to have your Banquet RSVP returned by this date. 19 May 2022 - Hotel Reservations: Please make your reservation by calling (315) 476-4212, and when prompted to select reservations, and ask for the Marine Corps League Annual Convention group rate, or you can book your reservation online using this link: https://bit.ly/37aG1Lo. The room rate is $99.00 per night. The group rate may be extended three days before and three days after the official meeting dates, subject to space availability. To receive the guaranteed room rate, your reservation MUST be made by 19 May 2022. 20 May 2022 Ad Journal Ads: Brini recognition to your Detachment, business, and/or organization by placing an Ad in our Journal. All proceeds from the Department Convention Journal to benefit the programs of the Marine Corps League. 25 May 2022 Delegate Reservations: We are recommending that Detachments register their delegates in advance. The advance registration rate is five ($5.00) dollars and must be postmarked by 25 May 2022, otherwise the registration fee per person is seven ($7.00) dollars. 25 May 2022 Marine of the Year Submissions: Each Detachment can nominate that outstanding Marine in their Detachment Submissions must be postmarked by the 25 May. Come out and join the Golf Tournament and support the New York Marine Corps League Foundation. If you don’t play golf, how about having your Detachment, business and/or organization sponsor a hole! I am asking for your financial support for Young Marine GySgt Victoria Nieto’s extraordinary adventure.

Goal $5,000

 

Victoria has been selected, representing Metro NYC and the Hudson Valley, for a “European Trekking” event as one of 13 youngsters nationwide.

 

The event is taking place June 10-25, 2022. It encompasses trekking through spectacular glaciers and the high peaks of Europe’s most famous mountain ranges. Sea Kayak on the Costa Brava, hike the Carros de Foc and whitewater raft the Noguera Pallaresa all on this once in a lifetime 16-day adventure.

 

We feel it is quite an honor for Victoria to have this educational opportunity. We hope you will be able to support this endeavor.
