Department Convention Update
We have an update on the Department
convention. There were some items that have changed do to the
restrictions placed on the hotel by the State of New York due to
Governor Andrew Cuomo's Executive Orders.
- Checking in, please follow all the Hotel Covid-19 Guidelines. Mask/face coverings are required in the common areas of the hotel.
- When checking in there will be a tax form to sign, this will
exempt you from the New York State room tax. (Make sure they give it to
you).
- Thursday night 5-7 reception by the Hotel only. No Friday or Saturday by hotel.
- Hospitality room is on the first floor (room 105). The Marine
Corps League Department of New York will host all food and beverage, and
will be open Thursday-Saturday (closes Saturday 1:30PM).
- Ships Store will be on same level and room number will be forthcoming
- Breakfast is box only (Fruit, Juice, Yogurt, Granola Bar and
frozen Breakfast sandwich, if available for Microwaving) or on your own
locally.
- Local restaurants available for eating (Ruby Tuesdays) 1/4 mile away
- Coffee both Friday & Saturday at break provided by the Department.
- Banquet Friday with Cash Bar
- Lunch Friday & Saturday: The Department will have available Sandwiches, Salads etc. at our cost to the members.
- Registration will be on the first floor by Onondaga Room (General Session area)
We must understand that we are in
different times and must adapt to this. It's just incredible that we are
able to have a Convention at this time. Adapt & overcome.
The Department wish to acknowledge
Marine Jim Ranson, Convention Committee Chairman for all of this hard
work on this convention and tackling all the issues that have arisen due
to COVID-19 pandemic.

Fleas Project!
The
Marine Corps League Auxiliary would like to ask for your assistance in
helping the Fleas with their project. There project this year is helping
a Veterans Food Pantry in the area. They are asking if all your members
can bring non-perishable food to the convention. This will help many
Veterans and their families. As you know many Veterans come home with
not being able to find jobs for many reasons and this year many have
lost their jobs due to COVID-19. The man who started this is a Navy man,
but he is also a member of the Marine Corps League. He will be coming
to our Flea Scratch on Friday about 3:30 to pick up all that we have
collected. The name of the pantry is "Feed our Vets" pantry.
Thank you for your help in feeding our Veterans who are less fortunate then we are.
