Legal Assistance For Veterans

Good morning,

I am reaching out to you in connection with the Fordham Law School’s Feerick Center for Social Justice and its Veteran Rights Project (FCVRP) (formerly Volunteer Lawyers for Veterans Program or VLV), which serves low-income veterans in the areas of consumer law and VA benefits issues.

The FCVRP will be hosting its third annual Veterans Day Clinic on November 5th and 6th, 2020 via Zoom. Volunteer lawyers with expertise in various civil legal issues will provide Know-Your-Rights presentations followed by limited-scope, one-on-one legal consultations to veterans and their family members. Topics are expected to include:

·         consumer debt, consumer bankruptcy, discharge upgrades, microenterprise, public benefits, tax, VA benefits, wills and end-of-life planning, and family law (particularly child support downward modifications).

We hope that you can help disseminate flyers to your veteran constituents/clients.

The pdf version of the flyer is attached. If you have thoughts and suggestions about the best way to publicize our event with veterans, we welcome your input.

If you have any questions please contact me by email at fcvrpcoordinator@fordham.edu or by phone (646) 312-8725.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,
Taylor Bessinger
