MCL - Social Media and the Marine Corps League

Marine Corps League - Department of New York E-Blast
Social Media and the Marine Corps League

Marines,

Most of us these days have a social media presence, whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat and so many others. As a reminder, what you post on your own account is your own business, however, if you are posting in the name of a Detachment, Pound, Department, Division, you are posting as a representative of the Marine Corps League. We want to take a moment to remind everyone that the Marine Corps League is a non-partisan, organization. We do not post political content to our League pages/account, or in the name of the League. This is a violation of our National bylaws.

For reference here is the related section:

Section 210. Non-Discrimination. The Marine Corps League:

a. Shall never take part in any labor or management dispute or issue;

b. Shall not be sectarian, political, and partisan;

c. Shall not be based on race, color, creed, nationality, or sex;

d. Shall not be used as a medium of political ambition or preferment’ and

e. Shall not use former or present military rank or former or present civilian position as the basis for special consideration and preferment.
