» MCHF - Honor Our Iwo Jima Marines today
Marine Corps League Yankee Detachment #255 February 20, 2021 MCHF
|
76 years ago today, the first group of what would eventually total
80,000 Marines and Navy Corpsmen landed on Iwo Jima and began a brutal
battle that would last for an unyielding 36 days.
On this 76th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima, we
remember and honor more than 6,000 Marines and Sailors who died and more
than 24,000 who were wounded during this pivotal clash of World War II.
Please help us honor their sacrifice by writing a short note of recognition and thanks now.
Your note will be shared with veterans and their families — sending a
clear message that their heroic service will never be forgotten.
While I know that you understand the significance of this day, many Americans don't. That is why it is so important to preserve this history and honor these brave Americans.
Please send your message of support right now. It will only take a few seconds, but it will mean a great deal to our Marines and guarantee their service is never forgotten!
Semper Fidelis!
